Job Description

Swan Health is hiring an Activities Director in Wichita Falls, TX!

The Activities Director is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, organization, implementation, evaluation, and direction of activity programs in accordance with current federal, state, and local laws, as well as facility established policies and procedures, to ensure the spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social development and needs of the patient/resident are met and maintained on an individual basis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation preferred or Professional State approved Activity credentials for the position.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience leading an Activity department in a long-term care / nursing home facility. Preferred experience in a high acuity setting.
  • Solid knowledge of Activity/Therapeutic Recreation principles and practices to include state requirements.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess appropriate written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in plans and provisions of patient care by visiting residents regularly to evaluate needs.
  • Document and report to the nursing department any unusual or significant findings.
  • Encourage residents to take part in activities of daily living that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
  • Spend duty time with residents rather than with other facility staff.
  • Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
  • Document accurately, timely and comprehensively.
  • Demonstrate initiative and follow through.
  • Participate in public relations, media coverage, marketing efforts and volunteer activities.
  • Follow facility van operation policy and procedure, if applicable.
  • Demonstrate correct safety techniques.
