Job Summary:

The Agile Scrum/Flow Master in Raleigh, NC will support the DPH Data Modernization project by facilitating agile ceremonies, guiding teams through planning and execution of Epics and features, and ensuring delivery of business value. This senior role focuses on removing obstacles, coordinating release planning, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within agile teams.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
• Ensure the team focuses on delivering high-priority backlog items each sprint.
• Support the Product Owner with backlog refinement and maintaining a clear product backlog.
• Guide the team in achieving the Definition of Done for all work items.
• Coach and mentor team members on Agile and Scrum best practices.
• Shield the team from external interruptions to maintain sprint focus.
• Promote collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Identify, track, and remove blockers affecting team delivery.
• Escalate risks and dependencies as necessary.
• Encourage proactive problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Partner with Product Owners, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure alignment.
• Facilitate communication across teams in scaled Agile environments.
• Ensure teams have necessary tools and support such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
• Track and report team performance metrics including velocity, burndown charts, and cycle time.
• Maintain visibility of team progress for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Proven experience as an Agile Scrum Master or Flow Master in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum framework, and best practices.
• Experience facilitating agile ceremonies and coaching teams.
• Ability to manage and prioritize backlog with Product Owners.
• Proficiency with tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience working in scaled Agile environments.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
• Experience with data modernization or technology projects.
• Knowledge of metrics-driven team performance tracking and reporting.
• Experience in coaching teams through continuous improvement processes.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to shield teams from external interruptions to maintain focus.
• Role requires proactive identification and removal of obstacles and blockers.
• Ability to escalate risks and dependencies appropriately.

Scheduling:

• Regular shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
• Position duration is 12+ months with possibility of extension.
