The Manager, AAdvantage Member Strategy is critical to shaping how millions of members earn, redeem, and engage with the AAdvantage® program across American Airlines and its global partner ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of member insights, mileage economics, and partner strategy, translating data and feedback into actionable insights, leading monetization initiatives, and aligning accrual and redemption strategies with airline partners. By connecting cross-functional teams including Analytics, Revenue Management, Partnerships, Marketing, Finance, and IT, the role drives coordinated decision-making that enhances member value while optimizing program economics.

• Translate AAdvantage member feedback and data into clear insights and coordinated actions across cross-functional teams 
• Lead mileage monetization strategy, including buy, gift, and transfer programs, and evaluate new revenue-generating opportunities 
• Partner with OneWorld alliance and other airline partners to align accrual, redemption, and reciprocal status benefits 
• Serve as a strategic advisor to internal teams on AAdvantage® earn, burn, and overall program economics 
• Analyze financial statements and program performance to assess profitability and identify opportunities for optimization 
• Develop business cases and financial models to support new initiatives, partnerships, and program enhancements 
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Digital, and partner teams to ensure alignment on strategy and execution 
• Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform program strategy and innovation

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience working with financial statements and financial analysis

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• 5+ years of experience using financial software and analytical tools
• Foundational knowledge of accounting concepts and financial reporting principles
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Experience in loyalty programs, airline industry, or customer strategy
• Advanced experience with financial modeling and forecasting
• Experience working with large datasets and business intelligence tools

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar platforms)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities
• Knowledge of accounting standards and practices
• Strategic planning and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
