Job Description

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.

S kill(s): Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, and assembly processes; proficient in methodologies including 5S, standard work, takt time, and PFMEA; adept in completing time studies, process flow creation, and documentation writing, proven ability to troubleshoot production issues; and strong CAD familiarity.

 

Working Conditions: Visual and auditory skills; ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, twist and lift items weighing 40lbs. or less; exposure to extreme temperature changes when working in shop; operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment; work at elevated heights or in confined spaces; and  extended time working on computer and use of fine motor skills involving repetitive motions.

Experience : 2-5 years in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering. 

Experience with process improvement, time studies, lean/Six Sigma, routings, BOMs. 

General Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer supports fabrication, assembly, and upfit operations by developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes for Curry Supply products. The primary responsibility of this role is to improve production efficiency, support engineering/production collaboration, develop standard work, and reduce waste. This position falls under the company's safety-sensitive category. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy and are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.

 

Essential Duties

 

  1. Conducts time studies and workflow analysis.

 

  1. Supports routings, BOM updates, and manufacturing documentation.

 

  1. Assists in tooling, fixtures, jig, and process layout design.

 

  1. Supports ECR/ECO updates.

 

  1. Works with shop employees on process issues. 

 

  1. Improves cost, quality, and throughput.

 

  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.

 

  1. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.

 

  1. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.

 

  1. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

 

 

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER I:

  • Basic time studies, documentation, and production support
  • Learns Curry product lines and processes
  • Supports engineering and shop floor with supervision

 

 

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER II:

  • Independently improves processes and resolves production bottlenecks
  • Designs basic fixtures and tooling
  • Proficient in routings, BOM accuracy, and process optimization
  • Cross-functional collaboration with purchasing, quality, and engineering

 

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER III:

  • Leads major process improvement initiatives
  • Deep expertise in Curry fabrication and assembly operations
  • Trains team members and leads CI projects
  • Understands lead times, supply chain, and workflow optimization

  1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
