Role Description

As Head of Data at Alpha, you’ll work closely with our CEO to help shape our strategy and build data into everything we do, using the latest AI tooling to reinvent our workflows and increase our speed of shipping daily. You’ll own the data function end-to-end while building and leading a small, high-leverage team in a player/coach capacity.

Qualifications

• You are an experienced data leader with ~10 years of experience at high growth consumer companies.
• You have strong product and business sense, thinking about data as a tool for making better product and business decisions.
• You like building over managing, finding satisfaction in diving in and finding answers.
• You’re a structured thinker, able to break down messy problems and create structured plans.
• You ruthlessly prioritize and execute, focusing on high-impact analyses.
• You’re in the details of everything, believing in precise definitions and sound experiment readouts.
• You believe in systems, constantly improving processes and building tools for team leverage.
• You are an excellent communicator, simplifying complex information into concise updates.
• You act like an owner with a bias towards action, taking end-to-end accountability.
• You are low-ego, willing to evolve opinions based on new data.

Requirements

• Architect and build robust data pipelines, experimentation infrastructure, metrics dashboards, and monitoring tools.
• Write SQL, review complex experiments, and dive deep into metrics.
• Drive strategy alongside the CEO, optimizing features for growth and partnering with the CFO to drive revenue.
• Build and improve data systems that inform product roadmaps and measure success.
• Lead high-leverage investigations, readouts, and audits as a player/coach.
• Hire and mentor high-slope data scientists, fostering a strong team culture.
